TECHNICAL PROBLEM PREVENTS TOP 5 FINISH IN THAILAND FOR GINO

CIA LANDLORDS INSURANCE HONDA’S Gino Rea had to accept 10th position at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand after fighting through the pack to 5th.
The weeekend never went smooth from the start and the Londoner qualified 9th for the debut WSS race in Thailand. After running off line in the opening laps Gino was mid pack and had a lot of work to do. After
charging through the pack and showing podium pace, Rea was set to pick up 5th when a technical problem started. Gino had to nurse the bike to the finish but still managed a creditable 10th and valuable points that leaves him joint 4th in the WSS Standings.
Gino said: “It hasn't been a smooth weekend and the race just tops it off. I had the pace during the race to be on the podium but I would have only been 5th anyway after I ran off line a few times in the opening laps. It was good just to finish the race in the points as I thought the bike wasnt going to make it. It's disappointing after the podium in Australia and also having podium pace here but we'll take the positives and move onto a track I like. Hopefully we will have a smoother weekend at Aragon so I can't wait to get back on my CIA Landloards Insurance Honda."
