Eagerness to show true pace for Gino Rea and OMG Racing at Brands Hatch Indy

OMG Racing UK are preparing to tackle the fast, furious and frantic Brands Hatch Indy circuit for the second round of the Bennetts British Superbike championship - under what will hopefully be a clear blue sky at the historic Kent venue. The kidney bean-shaped circuit will provide some of the hardest racing this year, with local rider Gino Rea eager to get his famous elbows out and make up for a frustrating debut weekend at Donington Park.

Even if the sun decides to stay away, the smiles of the team will always keep the positivity flowing. Both Gino Rea and National Superstock 1000 debutant Ben Luxton endured a difficult - yet productive - Donington Park, where both demonstrated their excellent race craft in far-from-perfect conditions. Now, on the road to Brands Hatch, both riders are looking forward to making a successful weekend away.

'I am really looking forward to the 2nd round of the British Superbike championship at Brands. We learnt a lot at the opening round and believe that coming into Brands Hatch Indy, we will definitely make a step in the right direction. Hopefully, we can have a smooth weekend and the weather will be more consistent. This will help us develop the bike at this early stage, which is crucial for the remainder of the Championship. I'm hoping for two solid point scoring races to make up for the lack of points scored at Donington. If we can leave on Sunday evening with a couple of top 6 results, as a new team, I think we will be doing very well. ‘The track is very short but it's also very technical to learn, so after the free practice sessions we'll have a better understanding of the direction we need to take and hopefully we'll be near the front. I have good confidence with the bike we are really gelling well together as a team. I'm excited to jump back on my OMG Racing Suzuki and get the laps in! 'Brands is my closest race to home and there will be great support, from family, friends, sponsors and the fans. It gives me extra incentive to get a good result for those who come down and show their support. I can't wait to see you all there!’
