AGT Rea Racing battle to 26th position at a tough Jerez Grand Prix.
May 4th, 2014
Gino Rea made his trademark ‘Speedy G’ start to the Jerez GP only to run off track on lap two after hitting a false neutral through the ultra-fast turn 4. After making up several positions during the next laps, Rea struggled with the bike set up towards the end of the race and wasn’t able to capitalize on his early race pace.
Gino Rea (26th)“I had a good start in the race but hit a false neutral on lap two through the fast turn 4 causing me to run off track. I ended up at the back but was able to pass several riders, and then I ran wide again towards the end and couldn’t make up any positions. We struggled with set up all weekend and I never got within a second of my laptime at the test here. In the race I was struggling to get the bike stopped anywhere and had trouble getting out of the fast corners. We know the direction we need to take at the next race though so I’m excited to get to Le Mans and start again. We are learning all the time with the bike and my riding so I hope we can challenge for points at the next round. It’s been tough but things are just getting underway for us, being a new team this year.”
The next race is May 18 in Le Mans, France. For more information about Gino Rea and AGT Rea Racing, log onto www.agtrearacing.com andwww.facebook.com/agtrearacing
