Gino Rea Montáže Brož Racing Team ended MotoGP season in the Moto2 category with 19th position but with their season best qualifying of 13th.

Gino started the Valencia finale from 13th position and managed to make a good start moving into 12th. But bad luck striked twice in the opening lap with Gino being hit twice, sending him back to 28th as he crossed the line on lap one. During the race the Londoner charged through the pack to move up into 16th just two laps before the finish. But then in the last lap another collision exiting the final corner meant he lost some positions to finish in 19th place.

Ginos comments: “I think it´s been a very positive weekend for us. To qualify 13th and just 0.5 tenths from second position was a real boost for us and showed what we're capable of. I had a good start to the race but in the first lap there were two incidents which sent me to the back.

"First Zarco hit me and I went onto the grass and lost a couple of positions which wasn't so bad, but then on the last turn of that lap, the Malaysian Syahrin went to pass me and crashed. I hit his bike and ran of the circuit again and went all the way back to 28th. Then I just put my head down and tried to ride as fast as possible. I was able to pass many riders and get back to 16th ahead of Cortese. On the last turn I almost collided with another rider whilst battling for 16th and had to roll off the gas which cost me a few positions, so I finished 19th.

"The important thing is we had good pace and if it wasn't for the lap one incidents I would have been in the group of 12th-15th, so it was a bit frustrating to finish where I did.

"It's been a difficult year for me but I've shown in the last few races that I'm capable of more. Now I am working on 2014 plans to stay in Moto2 on a competitive package. There aren't any rides left unless I have a huge amount of sponsorship behind me or a different nationality of passport, so I may be running a team again. If I do we'll be more prepared and I'll be able to test pre-season, an important factor I missed out on this year. Montaze Broz would like to continue next year so we'll see what happens in the near future.

"I'd like to thank all of my personal sponsors, Montaze Broz and everyone who contributed through www.GinoReaClub.com; all who have made this year possible.”
